Layar

Layar

The Layar Reality Browser is a free iPhone or Android augmented reality app that lets users look through their mobile device's camera to see “real time digital information (layers) on top of reality.” Some examples of layers are Architecture 3D, Foursquare, Google local search, Trulia, Twitter, Wikipedia and Yellowpages. The app itself is an augmented reality browser and users must download specific layers in order to view and access content. Most layers are free downloads, others cost around $2.00. Individuals and businesses can use Layar to add links, videos, audio, etc to their flyers, logos or products. The product is scanned with a mobile phone camera through the Layar app. The company seems to be bankrupted and Layar might not be in further development.
