MONK (Metadata Offer New Knowledge)

MONK (Metadata Offer New Knowledge) is a digital environment for humanities scholars. It is desgined to assist with the discovery and analysis of patterns within texts, incorporating full text content from corpora such as ECCO, EEBO and Early American Fiction directly into the tool. The MONK Workbench is the primary environment, permitting users to create worksets, perform analytics and save their results. In addition, the MONK workbench can be used in conjunction with the Flameco faceted browser and Zotero.

MorphAdorner

MorphAdorner, now in version 2.0, is a Java command-line program for the adornment of words in a text. At present, available adornments include standard spellings, parts of speech and lemmata, in addition to tokenization, the recognition of sentence boundaries and extracting names and places. Version 2.0 features a separate MorphAdorner Server, an improved integration with MONK's Abbot and improved processing of the Early English Books Online (EEBO), Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO) and Evans Early American Imprint Collection corpori.

Collocation - HTML (TAPoRware)

This tool provides all words directly before and after a user-specified word, based on the desired context of words, lines, sentences or paragraphs. The results can be sorted alphabetically, by frequency, or by Z-score (an indication of how far and in what direction that item deviates from its distribution's mean, expressed in units of its distribution's standard deviation).
