Word Cloud - Beta (TAPoRware)

This tool generates a word cloud of the top frequency words from a text document, with word size determined by its frequency. The user can specify how many words are to be included from the document, whether to apply a modified Glasgow Stop Words list, and the order in which the words are displayed. Clicking on a word in the resultant word cloud will generate a concordance for that word. This tool is currently only available for plain text documents. Should the user provide an HTML or XML text, all tags will be stripped and it will be processed as plain text. This tool’s functionality has been incorporated into Voyant available online at www.voyant-tools.org.

This tool aggregates texts/subtexts from different locations into a single text. The original texts can be from a user-specified web page or files located on one's computer. Aggregating subtexts requires all documents to share a common subtext tag, such as the <body> tag. The aggregator tool will grab the contents from the texts to form a single new text.

This tool provides all words directly before and after a user-specified word, based on the desired context of words, lines, sentences or paragraphs. The results can be sorted alphabetically, by frequency, or by Z-score (an indication of how far and in what direction that item deviates from its distribution's mean, expressed in units of its distribution's standard deviation). HTML and XML versions are also available within the TAPoRware toolsets. This tool’s functionality has been incorporated into Voyant available online at www.voyant-tools.org.
