Serendip
Serendip is a system for visually exploring topic models generated on large corpora of documents.
For researchers who work with text
TAPoR catalogues concordancers, annotators, topic models, stylometry packages, and visualization environments. Every record notes the platform, the license, and what the tool is actually good for.

Siena (Simulation Investigation for Empirical Network Analysis) is a free program for statistical analysis developed particularly to work with social network data, but also applicable to other forms of network data. It models network dynamics via Markov chain models; this approach is best applied to data where relations between actors and their behaviour can be treated as a state rather than as an event. Siena's statistical analysis processes can be time-consuming, as the system works via computer simulation of the network. It was in continuous development from 2001 through 2010, releasing versions up to 3.2. Development on Siena as a stand-alone program has concuded, and the project has shifted focus to RSiena, a version of Siena deployed in R.
Analysis
SimCA 2.0 was a program for correspondence analysis that could generate coordinates in seven dimensions for each data point.

Exhibit 3.0, a part of the SIMILE Widgets family of tools, is an open source software tool for web-based data publishing. This JavaScript-based browser widget facilitates searching, browsing, navigating and visualization data, and enables users to publish their data collections as websites without requiring programming, a database or access to a server.
Analysis
TimePlot, a part of the SIMILE Widgets family of tools, is a free, open source DHTML-based AJAXy widget for plotting time series and overlaying time-based events over them. The overlays use the same data formats supported by the related SIMILE Widgets Timeline tool. Timeplots are generated with a combination of JavaScript and HTML.

Welkin is a free tool for visualizing complex RDF models offered for download by the SIMILE Project. Rather than permitting users to focus on specific nodes, it provides analytical views such as an overview of a dataset's connectivity or potential mappings between resources and ontologies. It runs best through Java WebStart and is compatible with Windows, OS X and Linux.
