TAPoR Text Analysis Portal for Research

For researchers who work with text

Find a text analysis tool that fits the work.

TAPoR catalogues concordancers, annotators, topic models, stylometry packages, and visualization environments. Every record notes the platform, the license, and what the tool is actually good for.

  • Platform, license, and method on every record
  • Reviews from people who teach with the tools

Morfogen, Morffile/Morfword, Inflword (Version 2.0)

Morfogen, Morffile/Morfword and Inflword were four historicially important interrelated tools offered as and designed to operate as single package. Morfogen is a finite state compiler for morphological analysis, while Morffile and Morfword utilize Morfogen's compiled rules. Morffile searches a text and replaces them with either their base form or a base form followed by morpheme names. Morfword takes a word input by the user and generates its base forms and morpheme names. Inflword generates inflected words.

Nerf

Nerf is a statistical named entity recognition (NER) tool based on linear-chain conditional random fields (CRFs). It has been adapted to recognize tree-like structures of NEs (i.e., with recursively embedded NEs) by using the joined label tagging method which -- for a particular sentence -- works as follows: CRF model is used to determine the most probable sequence of labels, Extended IOB method is used to decode the sequence into a forerst of NEs. The extended IOB method also provides the inverse encoding function which is needed during the model training.
