FINNMORF

FINNMORF was a tool for generating full lexical paradigms for Finnish words. It modelled Finnish morphological competence, to facilitate identification of the most likely forms of a word within its context. Although the program could not select the correct form from context, the complexity of Finnish required sophisticated modelling to correctly determine the possible root form of a given word. As such, FINNMORF represented a significant contribution to computational linguistics.

Flamenco Search

Flamenco Search is a downloadable web-based interface from the UC Berkley School of Information based in Python, designed to run on a server. It streamlines the browsing of large collections. It is particularly valuable for items such as documents or images, enabling website visitors to explore content via a hierarchy of categories and subcategories called facets. Users can assign keywords and metadata which is then used to guide site visitors to the choices that best meet their interests, while allowing them to refine or expand their query and remain oriented in relation to the rest of the collection.
